This week each child in years 1 to 6 will receive a reading passport with 20 recommended books for them to read. The list has been created by the English subject leaders in the Agora Trust.
Passport 1 is intended for years 1 and 2. The books on the list can be found in our school library and local libraries, and are to be read by an adult or sibling. If your child is able to read part or all of a book out loud, great!
Passport 2 is intended for years 3 and 4. Passport 3 is intended for years 5 and 6. The books in these passports are to be read independently by the child, but can also be enjoyed with family members and friends.
Once a book has been read, the passports need to come into school so that the child can tell an adult about the text. The adult will acknowledge this in the dotted circle next to the book. There are also stars for a quick review and space to write the date and space for a signature.
The passports can stay in reading folders with their reading record or at home. Please come in and speak to a member of staff if you have any questions. Thank you!
