Positive Me.

Today we took part in the Agora mental health focus day along with the other schools in our multi academy trust. The focus of the day was ‘Positive me’ and children across all the schools took part in activities that promoted their own wellbeing and mental health.

In our bubble we started the afternoon with a guided meditation. The children enjoyed 9 minutes of peace, quiet and stillness, which was very calming after a quick run around the playground in the rain.

We then each made a ‘Map of my Heart’ where we focused on what was important to us.

The children then took part in a yoga activity. Some children were a bit unsure to begin with but everyone gave it their best. By the end they were all having fun and even continued to try and master some of the tricky moves after it had finished.

We ended the day with an activity focused entirely on ‘Positive me’, The children had to finish the statements I am, I can and I have. It was wonderful to hear the children talk so positively about themselves with statements such as I am brave, I am autistic, I have food, I have love, I can pray and I can make people smile.

We had such a lovely, positive afternoon despite all the rain.
