Reception – Dinosaur nests

This week Reception have taken a trip back in time and focused their learning on dinosaurs. In art we explored dinosaur nests. The outcome of this lesson was to get the children to think about the shape, location and materials needed for a dinosaur to make their nest and to make it safe and secure. We began our session with a class discussion where the children discovered dinosaurs laid eggs. We then looked at an information book that showed us the different shape, size and markings on a dinosaur egg. Using our new knowledge of dinosaur nests, we then went to our outdoor area and began to create our own versions of a nest.
