This week the children in nursery have been learning all about farms. They have learnt that there are different types of farms from livestock farming to Arable farming some farms are mixed. The children explored being farmers helping to get the land ready to grow crops. The children explored different types of seeds, they noticed how different they are in shape size and colour. Next the children got to choose their own seeds to sow. We have Carrots/ Runner Beans/ Parsnips/ Board Beans/ French Dwarf Beans. They also sowed some flower seeds Sweet Peas/Sunflowers and mixed seeds for Butterflies. We cannot wait to see them grow! We have been reading the book Jasper’s Beanstalk the children now know it will take a while for the seeds to grow.
