Year 1 pupils…
Hello and Welcome to Year One’s page on the school website!
This term Year One’s theme is ‘Around the World’. We will begin by exploring this in our Geography lessons, comparing where we live to Ecuador, looking at similarities and differences. In Art we are learning about self-portraits, different artists and their styles. We will be using our imaginations in Music as we learn to perform the song ‘Your Imagination’ by Joanna Mangona and Pete Readman.
In English we will be looking at the story ‘The Queen’s Hat’ by Steve Antony, exploring different London landmarks. We will then move on to look at ‘Bold Women in Black History’ by Vashti Harrison, where we will learn about different important female figures across the world.
In Maths we will begin the term by revising our multiplication and division skills. We will then be looking at fractions, specifically focussing on how to find halves and quarters.
PE is on Monday and Thursday, however, please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day.
If you need to get in touch with us, please remember to use the ‘contact us’ button on the side of the page and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.
