Year 5

Year 5 pupils…

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have had the best possible start to the new year.  I hope you are looking forward to the Spring term and the warmth that it brings.

I was extremely impressed with the work that our class produced last term and I’m excited to see the new ways that they can present their learning and progression. Unfortunately, it is a short half term but we still have the same amount of work to complete!

Our P.E lessons will continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday, so please ensure that your children have their P.E kits on these days. The class will still be covered by Mrs Crasnier on a Wednesday afternoon, where they will continue to study Science and R.E.

Homework tasks will continue to be posted on the google classroom on Fridays and will be due on Thursday. There will be two sheets, one creative and one focussed on academics. Please complete one grid per week. You may complete a grid from both sheets if you wish. In addition to these, there will also be a set of 10 spellings to learn each week, which the children will be tested on.

Our theme this term is ‘My Oh Mayan’, where we will look at the Maya people, who they were and where they were located. In Geography, we will be looking at North and South America,  its climate and the physical and natural geography of the continents.

If you have any queries or concerns, please speak with me at the end of the day or call the office and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Mr Severin
